R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |
|
|
death of V. Irene Clifton of Hewitt on March 4, 2011, at the age of |
|
|
96; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The former Irene Turner was born in rural Mason |
|
|
County on February 3, 1915, to Isia and Lucinda Turner; she enjoyed |
|
|
a rewarding marriage to J. Walter Clifton until his death in 1996; |
|
|
the couple became the parents of a son, Jimmy Walter Clifton, who |
|
|
passed away in infancy in 1937; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Those who were privileged to share in the friendship |
|
|
and love of Irene Clifton will always remember her with great |
|
|
tenderness and affection; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature pay tribute to the life of V. Irene Clifton and extend |
|
|
sincere sympathy to her relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of V. Irene |
|
|
Clifton. |
