R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Lucia Alderete Anaya of McGregor passed away on |
|
|
March 5, 2011, at the age of 89, leaving her circle of family and |
|
|
friends to cherish their many happy memories of time spent in her |
|
|
company; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Born in McGregor on January 9, 1922, the former |
|
|
Lucia Alderete was the daughter of Narcisso and Tomasa Ramirez |
|
|
Alderete; she married Jose Anaya on September 27, 1952, and through |
|
|
the years the couple became the parents of five children, Juan Luis, |
|
|
Juan, Diana, Bea, and Teresa; the couple spent more than two decades |
|
|
together, until Mr. Anaya's death in 1976; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Anaya worked for Westview Manor Nursing Home |
|
|
and Moody Care Center before joining Smead Manufacturing in 1978; a |
|
|
dedicated employee, she retired in 1991; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This esteemed woman delighted in spending time with |
|
|
her children, teaching them Mexican cooking and sharing with them |
|
|
her many crocheted creations; she was also a talented harmonica |
|
|
player who enjoyed playing for friends and family; moreover, she |
|
|
and her husband helped found St. Eugene Catholic Church, and Mrs. |
|
|
Anaya was a member of the church's altar society; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Lucia Anaya lived a caring and purposeful life, and |
|
|
those who were privileged to share in her love and friendship will |
|
|
forever remember her with great tenderness and affection; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Lucia Alderete |
|
|
Anaya and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to |
|
|
her children and their spouses, Juan and Tracie Anaya, Diana and |
|
|
Roger McMaster, Bea and Larry Kruse, and Teresa and Kelvin Yaun; to |
|
|
her 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and to her other |
|
|
relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Lucia |
|
|
Anaya. |
