R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Gary Cooper has been named the 2010 Civilian of the |
|
|
Year by the Mesquite Police Department; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A dedicated employee with the City of Mesquite, Mr. |
|
|
Cooper serves as a public safety dispatcher and assistant |
|
|
supervisor with the communications division; his job entails |
|
|
monitoring 9-1-1 and nonemergency phone lines and providing |
|
|
dispatch services for police, fire, and EMS units in the field; he |
|
|
is often called on to provide medical instructions and guidance to |
|
|
citizens in need, and he has demonstrated the ability to remain calm |
|
|
while negotiating the appropriate response; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Cooper has been previously recognized for his |
|
|
commitment to excellence with Certificate of Merit and Dispatcher |
|
|
of the Year awards; moreover, he received the Silent Hero |
|
|
Certificate of Recognition from the Commission on State Emergency |
|
|
Communications; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Gary Cooper has distinguished himself through his |
|
|
outstanding public service, and his hard work and dedication in |
|
|
behalf of public safety are indeed deserving of praise; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Gary Cooper on being named the 2010 |
|
|
Civilian of the Year by the Mesquite Police Department and extend to |
|
|
him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Cooper as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
