R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Captain Terry Ratliff is retiring from the Mesquite |
|
Fire Department in 2011, drawing to a close a notable tenure in |
|
public service that has spanned more than three decades; and |
|
WHEREAS, Terry Ratliff joined the Mesquite Fire Department on |
|
October 25, 1978, and through the years, he earned promotion to the |
|
posts of driver engineer and lieutenant; he went on to serve as an |
|
inspector in fire prevention before attaining the rank of captain |
|
in April 1987; and |
|
WHEREAS, Recognized for his exceptional work, this dedicated |
|
firefighter has received a number of commendations and was honored |
|
with the department's Life-Saving Award for his assistance in |
|
rescuing a veteran from a burning building; and |
|
WHEREAS, In retirement, Captain Ratliff looks forward to |
|
pursuing his many hobbies, including hunting and fishing at Lake |
|
Fork; and |
|
WHEREAS, Terry Ratliff's professionalism and devotion to |
|
public safety have greatly benefited his fellow citizens, and he |
|
may indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent as he embarks |
|
on the next exciting chapter in his life; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Captain Terry Ratliff on the |
|
occasion of his retirement from the Mesquite Fire Department and |
|
extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Captain Ratliff as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
