R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, An admired community leader received well-deserved
  recognition when Judy Drotman was named the 2010 Citizen of the Year
  by the Plano Chamber of Commerce; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Drotman first became involved in her community
  as PTA president at Huffman Elementary School and at Shepton High
  School; she went on to serve two years as president of the Plano
  Independent School District Council of PTAs and three years as a
  member of the PISD Board of Trustees, and she also benefited the
  PISD Education Foundation as both president and secretary; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to her efforts in behalf of education,
  Ms. Drotman has contributed to her fellow citizens as the chair of
  the Assistance Center of Collin County, as a board member of Plano
  Santas and the Collin County Christian Prayer Breakfast, and as a
  member of the City of Plano Crime Prevention Advisory Board and the
  Plano Traffic Commission; she currently serves on the PISD District
  Based Improvement Committee and the Ethics Committee at
  Presbyterian Hospital Plano; moreover, she is a graduate of the
  Leadership Texas Class of 2010 and the Leadership Plano Class 14;
  and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Drotman was previously honored for her
  generosity and dedication with the Andre Davidson Spirit of
  Volunteerism Award, and in 2004, the Plano ISD Creative Leadership
  Fund, which provides materials and training for emerging leaders in
  the district, was renamed for her; she has spent her career working
  with nonprofit organizations, first with the Volunteer Center of
  Collin County, from which she retired in 2001 as executive
  director, and today with United Way as a campaign associate; and
         WHEREAS, For more than two decades, Judy Drotman has
  distinguished herself through her outstanding commitment to Plano,
  helping to make the city an even better place in which to live and
  work, and it is indeed a pleasure to recognize her at this time;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Judy Drotman on being named the
  2010 Citizen of the Year by the Plano Chamber of Commerce and extend
  to her sincere best wishes for continued success with her important
  efforts; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Drotman as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
