R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the untimely loss of |
|
|
Rick Carlton Hensley of Lubbock, who passed away on March 9, 2011, |
|
|
at the age of 55; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Rick Hensley was born in Lubbock on September 17, |
|
|
1955, to Homer and Betty Hensley; in 1983, he cofounded Automax of |
|
|
Lubbock with his brother, Homer L. Hensley III, and over the years, |
|
|
the car dealership has grown to include several locations in the |
|
|
Lubbock area; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A man of strong religious faith, Mr. Hensley played |
|
|
a valued role in the life of Trinity Church for more than 25 years, |
|
|
volunteering countless hours with its ministries; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Rick Hensley shared a rewarding marriage with his |
|
|
wife, Melinda, and he took great pride in his three children, Chris, |
|
|
Jennifer, and Kristen, and in his grandson, James; always a |
|
|
supportive and encouraging father, he devoted countless hours while |
|
|
his children were growing up to coaching in their youth sports |
|
|
leagues; he enjoyed spending time with his family and the family |
|
|
dogs, and his avocations included reading, playing the guitar, and |
|
|
traveling; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While Rick Hensley's journey on this earth ended far |
|
|
too soon, he achieved a life that was rich in family, friends, and |
|
|
accomplishments, and he will forever be remembered with great |
|
|
tenderness and affection; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Rick Carlton Hensley |
|
|
and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his |
|
|
wife, Melinda Hensley; to his son and daughter-in-law, Chris and |
|
|
Rhealan Hensley; to his daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and |
|
|
Daniel Short and Kristen and Alan Riches; to his grandson, James |
|
|
Riches; to his sisters, Linda Little and Lisa Land; to his brother, |
|
|
Homer L. Hensley III; and to his other relatives and friends; and, |
|
|
be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Rick |
|
|
Carlton Hensley. |
