R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The certain knowledge of a life well lived may |
|
comfort those saddened by the death of Gilda Marie Gonzalez of El |
|
Paso on March 21, 2011, at the age of 58; and |
|
WHEREAS, A native of Los Angeles, California, the former |
|
Gilda Pena was born on August 7, 1952, to Salvador and Amparo Pena; |
|
she earned a bachelor's and double master's degrees from The |
|
University of Texas at El Paso and went on to devote more than 35 |
|
years to the students of the El Paso, Socorro, and Ysleta |
|
Independent School Districts as a counselor and speech pathologist; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, In 1984, she married Edwin Gonzalez, with whom she |
|
shared many happy years and raised two children, Jeffrey and |
|
Natalie; she cherished the company of her loved ones, and in her |
|
free time she enjoyed solving puzzles, drawing, and singing; and |
|
WHEREAS, Gilda Gonzalez was a mentor to many coworkers, and |
|
she inspired others with her kind and caring ways; she will forever |
|
be remembered with deep affection by all those who were privileged |
|
to know her; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Gilda Marie Gonzalez |
|
and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her |
|
husband, Edwin Gonzalez; to her son, Jeffrey Gonzalez; to her |
|
daughter, Natalie Gonzalez; to her sister, Ruth Pena; and to her |
|
other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Gilda Marie |
|
Gonzalez. |
