R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Santos Herrera, Sr., and Dominga |
|
|
Herrera of Lubbock celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on |
|
|
March 10, 2011; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Santos Herrera and the former Dominga Galvan were |
|
|
united in matrimony in Plainview in 1961; through the years, they |
|
|
have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer |
|
|
with the addition of three children, Marilyn Walker, Santos |
|
|
Herrera, Jr., and Maxine Herrera, as well as five grandchildren and |
|
|
two great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past |
|
|
five decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant |
|
|
in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love |
|
|
has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with |
|
|
grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Santos Herrera, Sr., and Dominga |
|
|
Herrera on their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Herrera as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
