R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Sean Gingras of Boy Scouts of America Troop No. 405 |
|
in Georgetown has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this |
|
accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and |
|
WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant |
|
honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the |
|
scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding |
|
criteria, Mr. Gingras earned 45 merit badges and, for his Eagle |
|
Scout project, constructed new bookcases for the library at Bridges |
|
to Growth Resource Center; and |
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of his scouting career, he has |
|
served his troop as chaplain aide, patrol leader, and senior patrol |
|
leader; in addition, Mr. Gingras is a brotherhood member of the |
|
Order of the Arrow and a recipient of the prestigious Arrow of Light |
|
Award; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of Joan and Phil Gingras, Sean Gingras is a |
|
junior at Georgetown High School and a valued member of the school |
|
band as well as Christ Lutheran Church; he plans to attend college |
|
and pursue a career as a graphic artist and web designer; and |
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan's achievements are all |
|
the more impressive given that he successfully overcame a battle |
|
with leukemia five years ago; he has since been involved in a number |
|
of charitable endeavors in behalf of cancer research; and |
|
WHEREAS, The dedication to excellence and perseverance in the |
|
pursuit of his goals that Mr. Gingras has demonstrated have proven |
|
him worthy to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed |
|
reflect with pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Sean Gingras on achieving the rank |
|
of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|
success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Eagle Scout Gingras as an expression of high regard by |
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
