R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The current membership and more than 350 alumni of
  Leadership Plainview contribute immeasurably to Hale County as
  civic leaders and volunteers; and
         WHEREAS, Established by the Plainview Chamber of Commerce in
  1984, this exceptional program provides opportunities for
  participants to increase their knowledge of public issues and
  infrastructure and to visit with the leaders who are making
  decisions that affect their community; and
         WHEREAS, The curriculum has been newly designed for the 27th
  class to include training in business ethics, team building, and
  stress and time management; courses also address such important
  issues as agriculture, health care, arts and recreation,
  transportation, banking and finance, education, and criminal
  justice; and
         WHEREAS, Through its efforts to build a more informed and
  involved citizenry and to develop new leaders, Leadership Plainview
  is helping to create a brighter and more promising future for the
  Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Leadership Plainview for its promotion of
  civic leadership and volunteerism and extend to its participants
  sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
