R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The current membership and more than 350 alumni of |
|
Leadership Plainview contribute immeasurably to Hale County as |
|
civic leaders and volunteers; and |
|
WHEREAS, Established by the Plainview Chamber of Commerce in |
|
1984, this exceptional program provides opportunities for |
|
participants to increase their knowledge of public issues and |
|
infrastructure and to visit with the leaders who are making |
|
decisions that affect their community; and |
|
WHEREAS, The curriculum has been newly designed for the 27th |
|
class to include training in business ethics, team building, and |
|
stress and time management; courses also address such important |
|
issues as agriculture, health care, arts and recreation, |
|
transportation, banking and finance, education, and criminal |
|
justice; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through its efforts to build a more informed and |
|
involved citizenry and to develop new leaders, Leadership Plainview |
|
is helping to create a brighter and more promising future for the |
|
Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor Leadership Plainview for its promotion of |
|
civic leadership and volunteerism and extend to its participants |
|
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
