R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the 2010-2011 Leadership Mid Valley class |
|
|
are visiting the State Capitol on April 6, 2011, to gain further |
|
|
insight into the workings of state government; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Leadership Mid Valley is an exceptional program that |
|
|
provides opportunities for participants to develop leadership |
|
|
skills and increase their knowledge of vital public issues; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Classes inspire the spirit of activism and provide a |
|
|
diverse membership with networking opportunities and instruction |
|
|
from knowledgeable figures who encourage students to acquaint |
|
|
themselves with community needs and problems while evaluating |
|
|
possible solutions; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This year's Leadership Mid Valley class includes |
|
|
Alicia Aguilar, Alfredo Aguilera, Ashley Dickerson, Tricia |
|
|
Cisneros-Givilancz, Rick Guerra, Nadia Ochoa, Daniel Ramirez, |
|
|
Martin Stenhouse, and Ruby Torres; also in attendance are committee |
|
|
members Gerry Bower, Frances Contreras, Sulema Cuellar, Yolanda |
|
|
Cuellar, Joel Vanderveer, and Gloria Givilancz, as well as staff |
|
|
member Martha Noell; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Endeavoring to foster a more informed and involved |
|
|
citizenry and to develop new leaders in South Texas, the program is |
|
|
helping to build a brighter and more promising future for the Lone |
|
|
Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby welcome Leadership Mid Valley to the State |
|
|
Capitol and extend to all participants sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued success. |
