R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Texans everywhere are indebted to the courageous men |
|
and women of the law enforcement profession who, by their selfless |
|
dedication to the public welfare, have enabled us to enjoy the |
|
benefits of a peaceful and orderly society; and |
|
WHEREAS, Too seldom recognized and often taken for granted by |
|
the public they so faithfully serve, these gallant individuals |
|
daily risk their lives in order to ensure domestic tranquility and |
|
to protect the lives and property of others; and |
|
WHEREAS, Deputy Sheriff Jacob Rene Rayos of the Reeves County |
|
Sheriff's Office exemplified in his personal and professional |
|
conduct the admirable virtues of courage, integrity, and unwavering |
|
dedication; and |
|
WHEREAS, Throughout his 13 years and 5 months on the force, he |
|
garnered a record of meritorious service, loyalty, bravery, and |
|
self-sacrifice consistent with the highest ideals of the law |
|
enforcement profession; and |
|
WHEREAS, Killed in the line of duty on April 11, 2010, Deputy |
|
Sheriff Rayos will long be missed by his family, his fellow peace |
|
officers, and the entire community; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through the years, the notable legacy of Deputy |
|
Sheriff Rayos will endure and continue to be a source of inspiration |
|
for those who follow in this difficult but essential profession; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Deputy Sheriff Jacob |
|
Rene Rayos of the Reeves County Sheriff's Office and extend deepest |
|
sympathy to his family, friends, and fellow officers; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Deputy |
|
Sheriff Rayos. |
