R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Argyle United Methodist Church hosted a Swing Time
  dinner and dance on March 27, 2011; and
         WHEREAS, Serving as a benefit to raise funds for education
  and research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy, the memorable event
  featured a catered meal and dancing to the big band sounds of the
  award-winning Argyle High School Jazz Band; and
         WHEREAS, The Swing Time gathering was held in honor of the
  families of Michael Hope and Corbin Fanning, two local boys who
  suffer from Duchenne, a genetic degenerative disease of the muscles
  that is diagnosed in early childhood; and
         WHEREAS, The 2011 get-together marks the second consecutive
  year that area residents have taken part in this worthwhile
  charitable endeavor, with the inaugural Swing Time dinner and dance
  raising more than $16,000; and
         WHEREAS, By bringing the community together in support of a
  worthy cause, the Swing Time dinner and dance helps to underwrite
  vital medical research that will have a positive impact on many
  lives; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby honor all those who took part in the second
  annual Swing Time fund-raiser and commend the Argyle United
  Methodist Church and the Hope and Fanning families for their
  dedicated efforts to combat Duchenne muscular dystrophy; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the organizers of the event as an expression of high
  regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
