R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and |
|
meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the family and friends |
|
of Anna D. Velin of Axtell, who passed away on March 9, 2011, at the |
|
age of 67; and |
|
WHEREAS, A native of California, Anna Velin was born on |
|
November 27, 1943, the oldest daughter of James and Anna Marsh; she |
|
later moved to Texas and lived in the community of West for two |
|
decades before making her home in Axtell; through the years, she |
|
worked for a number of employers, and she was admired by many people |
|
for her kind and generous nature; and |
|
WHEREAS, Known affectionately as "Lollie," Ms. Velin was |
|
devoted to her children, Cassandra, Penny, and Gerry, and she took |
|
great pride in her granddaughters; and |
|
WHEREAS, Anna Velin enjoyed a life that was rich in the |
|
intangibles that matter most, and she is deeply missed by all those |
|
who were privileged to know her; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Anna D. Velin and |
|
extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her |
|
children, Penny Shriver and her husband, Don, and Gerry Velin and |
|
his wife, Casie; to her grandchildren, Miranda Gatica, Mikayla |
|
Shriver, Emily Velin, and Samantha Velin; to her sisters, Mary |
|
Marsh Calvert, Theresa Ivo Bradshaw, and Regina Marsh Lucien and |
|
Robbie Howland; to her brothers, Ralph Marsh and his wife, Linda, |
|
Edward Marsh and his wife, Joani, Fred Marsh, and Steven Marsh and |
|
his wife, Venetia; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be |
|
it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Anna D. |
|
Velin. |
