R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of |
|
|
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Bill and Mary Felkner |
|
|
of Robinson celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on |
|
|
March 10, 2011; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Bill Felkner and the former Mary Nita Lewis were |
|
|
joined in matrimony in 1961 at a ceremony held at Center Terrace |
|
|
Baptist Church in Canton, Mississippi; they have been blessed with |
|
|
a treasured family that includes two children, Susan Allen and her |
|
|
husband, Mickey, and Billy Felkner, as well as two grandchildren, |
|
|
Mickey and Emily; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Retired from Baylor University, where she worked as |
|
|
the ticket manager of the athletic department, Mrs. Felkner remains |
|
|
actively employed today with a local business; Mr. Felkner is the |
|
|
former sales manager of KCEN-TV and owner of Business Specialties; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Felkner have enjoyed five decades of |
|
|
abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an |
|
|
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
|
|
commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Bill and Mary Felkner on their |
|
|
50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Felkner as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
