R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, In a display of skill and determination, the |
|
|
baseball team of Midway High School in Waco won the 2011 Frisco |
|
|
Tournament of Champions; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Held at Dr Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, the event took |
|
|
place March 10 through 12, 2011, and featured 14 of the top high |
|
|
school teams in the area; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, With their exceptional play, the Panthers |
|
|
progressed through the tournament to earn a spot in the |
|
|
championship game; there, they triumphed over Wakeland High School |
|
|
by a score of 11-4 to take top honors in the competition; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Midway's tournament victory further demonstrated |
|
|
its ability to excel against talented opponents, and the players |
|
|
may take justifiable pride in this achievement; now, therefore, be |
|
|
it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the Midway High School baseball |
|
|
team on winning the 2011 Frisco Tournament of Champions and extend |
|
|
to the athletes, coaches, and staff sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
