R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The passing of Owen Defoor of Crawford on March 11, |
|
|
2011, at the age of 70, has deeply saddened his family and friends; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Owen Defoor was born in Valley Mills on June 1, 1940, |
|
|
to Lee and Leatha Mae Moore Defoor; he graduated from Crawford High |
|
|
School in 1958; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Joined in marriage to the former Margie Jenkins in |
|
|
1968, Mr. Defoor shared more than 40 years with his wife until her |
|
|
death in 2009; the couple were blessed with two children, Owen and |
|
|
Jan, and their family later grew to include a grandson, Douglas; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Defoor worked for Precinct 4 of the McLennan |
|
|
County Road and Bridge Department for 26 years and retired in 1996; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Although Owen Defoor will be deeply missed, his |
|
|
loved ones will forever treasure their memories of time spent in his |
|
|
company; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Owen Defoor and extend |
|
|
sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his son, Owen |
|
|
Wayne Defoor; to his daughter, Jan Pyburn, and her husband, Larry; |
|
|
to his grandson, Douglas Pyburn; and to his other relatives and |
|
|
friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Owen |
|
|
Defoor. |
