R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The certain knowledge of a life well lived may |
|
temper the profound sadness that the death of Elizabeth Jones |
|
Genovese of Woodway on March 17, 2011, brings to all who loved her; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Mary Morris and Ollie Jones, |
|
Elizabeth Jones was born in Corsicana and attended schools in |
|
Mexia; she earned her bachelor's degree from Baylor College for |
|
Women in Belton and later her master's degree from Columbia |
|
University; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Genovese enjoyed a notable career in business |
|
in New York, where she worked in public relations and personnel with |
|
Standard Oil Company, Standard Brands, and International Executive |
|
Service Corps; she was active in her community as a volunteer and |
|
also held membership in several religious, civic, and service |
|
organizations; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Mrs. Genovese enjoyed the love |
|
and support of her husband, Clarence Thomas Genovese, who preceded |
|
her in death; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although Elizabeth Genovese is deeply missed, |
|
cherished memories of time spent in her company will long endure in |
|
the hearts of her family and friends; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Elizabeth Jones |
|
Genovese and extend sincere condolences to her great-nephews, Blake |
|
and Clay Merrell, and to all who mourn the death of this beloved |
|
woman. |
