R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
  of George C. Coppage, Jr., of Hewitt, who passed away on March 8,
  2011, at the age of 89; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Kentucky to George Coppage, Sr., and Myrtle
  Coppage on January 3, 1922, George Coppage answered his nation's
  call to duty and served with the U.S. Army during the Second World
  War; he subsequently served with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in
  Korea and with the U.S. Air Force Strategic Air Command as a crew
  chief on a B-47; and
         WHEREAS, This distinguished veteran retired from the air
  force with the rank of staff sergeant in 1970 and then worked in
  Kentucky as a state park ranger and later as an investigator with
  the Office of the Attorney General; after retiring from the
  Commonwealth of Kentucky, he moved to Texas, where he worked with
  the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum in Waco and with the
  Salvation Army; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Coppage was married first to Evelyn Hoxie
  Coppage, who predeceased him; fortunate to find love once again, he
  enjoyed a rewarding marriage with his second wife, Betty; he was
  blessed with three children, Carol, Ashley, and Tim, as well as
  eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and four
  great-great-grandchildren; he was a member of the Scottish Rite and
  attained the level of 32nd degree Mason; a great storyteller, he
  kept his family members enthralled with tales of his many
  experiences; and
         WHEREAS, George Coppage, Jr., lived a rich and purposeful
  life centered around his family and his country, and he will long be
  remembered with deep affection by all who knew him; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of George C. Coppage,
  Jr., and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family:
  to his wife, Betty Coppage; to his children and their spouses, Carol
  and Mike Barnes, Ashley and Mike Marsili, and Tim and Lu Coppage; to
  his sister, Janice Huerta, and her husband, Jerry; to his brother,
  Kenny Coppage, and his wife, Fay; to his grandchildren,
  great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and to his
  other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of George C.
  Coppage, Jr.
