R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever cherish their
  memories of Kenneth Schroeder of Elm Mott, who passed away on March
  9, 2011, at the age of 66; and
         WHEREAS, Kenneth Schroeder was born to Benjamin and
  Wilhelmina Schroeder on September 15, 1944, in Tours; after
  graduating from West High School, he studied music at Hill Junior
  College; during the Vietnam War, he answered his nation's call to
  duty by serving in the U.S. Army; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Schroeder wed the former Linda Langston on
  December 31, 1966; they enjoyed a rewarding marriage of 44 years and
  were blessed with three children, Jerry, Curtis, and Kelly, as well
  as four grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, A mechanic by trade, Mr. Schroeder worked at
  automotive dealerships in Waco and Temple for more than 40 years; he
  was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, a charitable
  organization that gives voice to wartime disabled vets; and
         WHEREAS, Devoted to his family, Mr. Schroeder especially
  loved spending time in the company of his grandchildren; in his
  leisure hours, he enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, and dirt track
  racing; and
         WHEREAS, Kenneth Schroeder was blessed with a warm, wide
  smile that brightened the world around him, and those who were
  privileged to share in his love and affection will continue to hold
  him close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Kenneth Schroeder
  and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
  wife, Linda Schroeder; to his sons, Jerry Lee Schroeder and his
  wife, Christy, and Curtis Wayne Schroeder and his wife, Theresa; to
  his daughter, Kelly Schroeder; to his grandchildren, Brandon Lee
  Schroeder, Shelby Schroeder, Cameron Schroeder, and Justin
  Mahoney; to his brothers, Donald Schroeder and his wife, Betty,
  John Schroeder and his wife, Diane, and Larry Schroeder and his
  wife, Sandy; to his sisters, Delores Sherwood and her husband, Ed,
  Janette Griffin and her husband, Glen, and Cathy Patterson; and to
  his other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Kenneth
  Schroeder.
