R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of |
|
|
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and M. E. "Jon" and Ila Jean |
|
|
Carothers of Crawford celebrated this joyous milestone in their |
|
|
marriage on March 3, 2011; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Carothers were joined in matrimony in |
|
|
1961 at a ceremony held in Abilene; through the years, they have |
|
|
been blessed with a treasured family that includes their son, Ken, |
|
|
and his wife, Angela, with whom they share the many special |
|
|
occasions of life; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of their marriage, Mr. Carothers |
|
|
worked for Texas Farm Bureau Insurance for 31 years and Mrs. |
|
|
Carothers was employed with Central Texas Iron Works and D & E |
|
|
Builders Supply; now enjoying a well-deserved retirement, they |
|
|
spend time pursuing their hobbies of woodworking and gardening; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Carothers have enjoyed five decades of |
|
|
abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an |
|
|
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
|
|
commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Jon and Ila Jean Carothers on their |
|
|
50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Carothers as an expression of high regard |
|
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
