R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, In an outstanding display of athletic ability, |
|
|
Jordan Jones of Kingwood High School won two individual swimming |
|
|
titles at the University Interscholastic League 5A State Meet on |
|
|
February 18 and 19, 2011; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A junior on the Mustangs swimming and diving team, |
|
|
Mr. Jones bested a talented field in the 500-yard freestyle with a |
|
|
time of 4:24.54; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In the 100-yard breaststroke, this determined |
|
|
competitor finished in 56.32, more than half a second faster than |
|
|
the second-place swimmer; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The son of Scott and Lynn Jones, Jordan Jones is |
|
|
looking forward to his senior year of competition in 2011-2012, |
|
|
when he will once again compete under the direction of Kingwood head |
|
|
coach Russell Duin and assistant coach Laura Ledlow; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The success achieved by Mr. Jones is a testament to |
|
|
his hard work and commitment to excellence, attributes that will |
|
|
continue to serve him well in the years to come; now, therefore, be |
|
|
it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Jordan Jones on winning two |
|
|
swimming titles at the 2011 UIL 5A State Meet and extend to him |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Jones as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
