R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The 80th birthday of an esteemed Texan is indeed
  cause for celebration, and Beverly Fletcher of Tivoli is marking
  that memorable milestone in her life on April 27, 2011; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Fred and Jimmie Barber, Beverly
  Fletcher graduated from Austwell-Tivoli High School and went on to
  earn bachelor's and master's degrees from Texas A&I University, now
  Texas A&M University--Kingsville; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Fletcher had a rewarding career in education
  that spanned nearly four decades; she taught in Beeville and
  Raymondville before moving to Victoria, where she worked at Patti
  Welder Junior High; in 1967, she joined the staff at Victoria High
  School, and she enjoyed a notable 20-year tenure as instructor of
  the Victoriadores Drill Team; and
         WHEREAS, Following her retirement from teaching, Mrs.
  Fletcher followed her passion for the outdoors and became a park
  ranger at the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge; and
         WHEREAS, In all of her endeavors, she has received the
  support of a devoted family; on April 4, 1953, she married Garland
  Fletcher, with whom she had a beloved daughter, Kay, and today, her
  life is further enriched by her three grandsons, Zachary, Tyler,
  and Trenton; and
         WHEREAS, Beverly Fletcher is an inspiration to all who have
  the good fortune to know her, and her 80th birthday offers a welcome
  opportunity to celebrate the special place she holds in the hearts
  of her loved ones; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Beverly Fletcher on her 80th
  birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
  happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Fletcher as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
