R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, John Henry "Jack" Schmalstieg IV of Boy Scouts of
  America Troop No. 151 in Georgetown has attained the rank of Eagle
  Scout, and this accomplishment truly merits special recognition;
  and
         WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant
  honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the
  scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding
  criteria, Mr. Schmalstieg earned the requisite 21 merit badges, and
  for his Eagle Scout project he built clothing racks to hold
  donations at the Annunciation Maternity Home; and
         WHEREAS, A freshman at The University of Texas at Tyler, this
  fine young Texan has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability
  throughout his scouting career, winning the respect and admiration
  of his fellow scouts as he worked toward the highest rank that
  scouting offers; and
         WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Schmalstieg's dedication to excellence
  and his perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him
  worthy to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect
  with pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Jack Schmalstieg on achieving the
  rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for
  continued success and happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Eagle Scout Schmalstieg as an expression of high
  regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
