R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout is an achievement shared by |
|
|
many of this nation's leaders, and the attainment of this |
|
|
significant honor by Lewis Shannon Pierce of Georgetown also |
|
|
heralds a future bright with opportunity and promise; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has mastered many important |
|
|
skills in his quest to become an Eagle Scout; he has earned merit |
|
|
badges requiring expertise in such diverse areas as first aid, |
|
|
personal fitness, and environmental science, and he has gained |
|
|
experience in leadership and teamwork while undertaking his Eagle |
|
|
Scout project, which involved building cabinets to house tools and |
|
|
toys used in arena activities at the Ride On Center for Kids; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A valued member of Boy Scout Troop No. 151, Mr. |
|
|
Pierce has served his peers as a leader, and in so doing, he has |
|
|
exemplified the many positive traits for which Boy Scouts are |
|
|
renowned; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In fulfilling the rigorous requirements for |
|
|
attaining the Eagle Scout insignia, Mr. Pierce has demonstrated an |
|
|
unwavering commitment to the organization and its ideals, and the |
|
|
knowledge and confidence he has acquired along the way will indeed |
|
|
serve him well in the years to come; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Lewis Shannon Pierce on achieving |
|
|
the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Eagle Scout Pierce as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
