R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A 60th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of |
|
|
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Dan and Susie Perez of |
|
|
Canton are celebrating this joyous milestone in their marriage on |
|
|
April 24, 2011; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Perez fell in love at first sight when |
|
|
they met in a seventh-grade class in Premont, and they were later |
|
|
joined in matrimony at a ceremony held at the groom's parents' home |
|
|
in Alice; since that special day in 1951, the couple have been |
|
|
blessed with a treasured family that includes 6 children, Yolanda, |
|
|
Adan, David, Michael, Dianna, and Andrew, as well as 14 |
|
|
grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. and Mrs. |
|
|
Perez are now both retired; Mr. Perez enjoyed a long career as a |
|
|
self-employed truck driver and retired after 25 years with Yellow |
|
|
Freight Lines, while Mrs. Perez owned a beauty salon and, after |
|
|
earning a broker's license, sold real estate in the Irving area for |
|
|
15 years; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This devoted pair have enjoyed six decades of |
|
|
abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an |
|
|
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
|
|
commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Dan and Susie Perez on their 60th |
|
|
wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Perez as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
