R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
  of Orvis Warren Marrs of Waco, who passed away on March 22, 2011, at
  the age of 94; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Lorena to Joseph and Maud Marrs on January
  24, 1917, Orvis Marrs answered his nation's call to duty with
  service in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II; returning
  to Central Texas, he worked for the Cameron Roofing Company before
  becoming co-owner of the Garret-Marrs Roofing Company; he was later
  employed with the Johnson Roofing Company; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Marrs married the former Flora Belle Bufkin on
  July 27, 1939, and together they enjoyed 71 rewarding years and were
  blessed with 3 children, James, Gary, and Linda, as well as 9
  grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to spending time with his family, Mr.
  Marrs took great pleasure in hunting and fishing; he was guided by
  his deep Christian faith and was a valued member of Emmanuel Baptist
  Church, where he served his congregation as a deacon; and
         WHEREAS, Known for his kindness and his ever-present smile,
  Orvis Marrs touched the lives of countless people, and he will long
  be remembered with great affection by all those who were privileged
  to share in his love and friendship; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Orvis Warren Marrs
  and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
  wife, Flora Belle Marrs; to his sons, James Tony Marrs and Gary
  Warren Marrs and his wife, Linda; to his daughter, Linda Sue Oberg,
  and her husband, Lance; to his grandchildren, Laura, Jana, Lisa,
  Scott, Jamie, Jared, Brian, and Leah; to his great-grandchildren,
  Abigail, Jonathan, Andrew, Joseph, Jessica, Arthur, Adam, Olivia,
  Kellan, and Devaney; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Orvis W.
  Marrs.
