R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Proud members of Waco Chapter No. 14 of the National
  Association of Women in Construction celebrated Women in
  Construction Week from March 6 to March 12, 2011; and
         WHEREAS, Founded in Fort Worth and chartered as a national
  organization in 1955, the NAWIC sponsors WIC Week every year to
  highlight the essential role played by the approximately one
  million women nationwide who work in the construction industry; and
         WHEREAS, The women of Waco Chapter No. 14 do their part to
  support the construction business in Waco and to enhance the
  success of women working in the field; in addition, the chapter
  sponsors the Block-Kids Building Program, a competition held to
  promote an interest in careers in the many facets of the
  construction industry, and its members give back to the community
  through their participation in such worthwhile programs as Habitat
  for Humanity; and
         WHEREAS, The members of Waco Chapter No. 14 include president
  Ginger Ritchison and members Pat Breen, Joyce Cammack, Melody
  Grigsby, Cindy Kattner, Melba Maddox, Sandy Marek, Erin McNamara,
  Christina McNeil, Rhonda Nebgen, Patti Short, Sherri Sutherland,
  Glynna Swanner, Tricia Warren, and Gloria Wokaty; and
         WHEREAS, By offering forums for networking and learning, and
  by highlighting the opportunities available for women in the
  construction industry, the members of Waco Chapter No. 14 of the
  NAWIC are contributing to the strength and diversity of the Texas
  economy; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate Women in Construction Week and
  commend the members of Waco Chapter No. 14 of the National
  Association of Women in Construction for their contributions to
  their community; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the chapter as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
