R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A full and generous life came to an end with the
  death of Bernice L. Brooks on March 25, 2011, at the age of 91; and
         WHEREAS, Born on June 5, 1919, in Austin to Walter and Lillie
  Mueller, Bernice Mueller was the oldest of seven children; she
  married Tillman A. Brooks on March 17, 1936, and they followed her
  husband's career with MKT Railroad and lived in several Texas
  communities before making their home in Waco in 1954; together they
  shared more than three decades of marriage and welcomed seven
  treasured children into their family; and
         WHEREAS, A faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church for 10
  years, Mrs. Brooks previously taught Sunday school and worked with
  children at Grace Temple Baptist Church; she also enjoyed cooking
  for her family and celebrating the holidays; and
         WHEREAS, While the death of Bernice Brooks has brought great
  sorrow to her loved ones, she will long be fondly remembered by all
  those who held her dear; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Bernice L. Brooks and
  extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her
  children, Charles Brooks and his wife, Susan, Cora L. Wilkinson and
  her husband, Kennith, Mary Ferguson, Laura Sullins, David Brooks
  and his wife, Kathy, and Lisa Daniel; to her nine grandchildren and
  seven great-grandchildren; and to her other relatives and friends;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Bernice L.
  Brooks.
