R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The untimely passing of John David Burton of Moody
  on March 19, 2011, at the age of 32, has brought great sorrow to the
  family and friends of this beloved young man; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Houston on September 5, 1978, Johnny Burton
  was the son of Debra Ann Burton; he graduated from McGregor High
  School in 1997 and went on to pursue a degree in criminal justice at
  Temple College; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Burton was a valued member of Shadow Hills
  Baptist Church in Lubbock; sustained by a strong faith, he inspired
  those around him with his courage and positive outlook; he was a
  loyal friend who always placed the needs of others first, and he was
  quick to offer a kind word and radiant smile; dedicated to his
  family, he brought them even closer together; and
         WHEREAS, Johnny Burton treasured each moment he spent in the
  company of the ones he loved, and they will in turn cherish their
  memories of his kindness, thoughtfulness, and devotion; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of John David Burton and
  extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
  mother, Debra Burton; to his sister, Cynthia Gump, and her husband,
  Travis; to his grandparents, Willie and Frances Burton; to his
  niece, Haleigh Gump; to his aunt, Linda Williams, and her husband,
  Billy; to his uncle, David Burton; and to his many other relatives
  and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of John David
  Burton.
