R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Patricio
  T. Escalona, Sr., of Waco, who passed away on March 23, 2011, at the
  age of 74; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Escalona was born on June 8, 1936; he joined the
  United States Navy in 1954 and proudly served his country for 13
  years; and
         WHEREAS, A caring husband and father, Mr. Escalona shared 47
  rewarding years with his wife, Irma; together, they raised two
  children and saw their family grow to include seven grandchildren
  and three great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, After concluding his military service, Mr. Escalona
  worked as a carpenter in Victoria for more than four decades; in
  2008, he moved to Waco, and he was a valued member of the
  congregation at Turning Point Church in Robinson; and
         WHEREAS, Patricio Escalona enjoyed a life that was rich in
  the intangibles that matter most, and he is deeply missed by all
  those who held him dear; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Patricio T.
  Escalona, Sr., and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his
  family: to his wife, Irma Escalona; to his son, Patricio Escalona,
  Jr., and his wife, Lisa; to his daughter, Rose Blankenship, and her
  husband, Randy; to his sisters, Cecilia, Narcissa, and Irene; to
  his brothers, Evaristo and Paul; to his seven grandchildren and
  three great-grandchildren; and to his other relatives and friends;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Patricio
  Escalona.
