R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Patricio |
|
|
T. Escalona, Sr., of Waco, who passed away on March 23, 2011, at the |
|
|
age of 74; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Escalona was born on June 8, 1936; he joined the |
|
|
United States Navy in 1954 and proudly served his country for 13 |
|
|
years; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A caring husband and father, Mr. Escalona shared 47 |
|
|
rewarding years with his wife, Irma; together, they raised two |
|
|
children and saw their family grow to include seven grandchildren |
|
|
and three great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, After concluding his military service, Mr. Escalona |
|
|
worked as a carpenter in Victoria for more than four decades; in |
|
|
2008, he moved to Waco, and he was a valued member of the |
|
|
congregation at Turning Point Church in Robinson; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Patricio Escalona enjoyed a life that was rich in |
|
|
the intangibles that matter most, and he is deeply missed by all |
|
|
those who held him dear; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Patricio T. |
|
|
Escalona, Sr., and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his |
|
|
family: to his wife, Irma Escalona; to his son, Patricio Escalona, |
|
|
Jr., and his wife, Lisa; to his daughter, Rose Blankenship, and her |
|
|
husband, Randy; to his sisters, Cecilia, Narcissa, and Irene; to |
|
|
his brothers, Evaristo and Paul; to his seven grandchildren and |
|
|
three great-grandchildren; and to his other relatives and friends; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Patricio |
|
|
Escalona. |
