H.R. No. 1415

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, The basketball team of Crawford High School enjoyed an outstanding 2010-2011 season, advancing all the way to the regional semifinals; and

WHEREAS, After a successful regular season, the Pirates continued their spirited brand of basketball in the University Interscholastic League 2A playoffs; the team beat Palmer High School in its area round matchup, 46-41 to earn a place in the regional quarterfinals; facing off against Grandview High School, the Crawford players came away with a decisive 53-41 victory and moved on to the semifinals, where they fell to number one-ranked Melissa High School; and

WHEREAS, Throughout the season, head coach Brent Elmore counted on a talented and deep roster that included Kole Johnston, Colten Claxton, Jake Talbert, Tanner Harrell, Cameron Kendrick, Jake Blenden, Drake Howe, Skylar Tate, Dillon Atkinson, and Daniel Post; and

WHEREAS, The dedicated student-athletes of the Crawford High basketball team are a source of great pride to their many supporters in the local community, and their outstanding performance on the court is indeed deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby congratulate the Crawford High School basketball team on its successful 2010-2011 season and extend sincere best wishes to the players, coaches, and staff for continued success; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
