R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, April Fry, a sophomore at Winnsboro High School, |
|
|
performed at the 75th AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic Halftime Spectacular |
|
|
at Dallas Cowboys Stadium on January 7, 2011; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Fry plays saxophone in the Winnsboro High School |
|
|
Band and serves as its color guard captain; she was selected for the |
|
|
honor of performing at the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic following her |
|
|
impressive showing at the Marching Auxiliaries summer camp in |
|
|
Shreveport, Louisiana; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, One of approximately 30 color guard representatives |
|
|
chosen, Ms. Fry performed with more than 400 other high school |
|
|
students from across the country during the pregame and halftime |
|
|
festivities at the nationally televised game; the students |
|
|
entertained the sold-out crowd of over 100,000 with a program that |
|
|
featured flags, dancers, rifles, and twirlers; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This talented young Texan's achievements are a |
|
|
source of great pride for the Winnsboro Independent School |
|
|
District, and her hard work and continuing pursuit of excellence |
|
|
will surely open many other doors for her in the years ahead; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate April Fry on being selected to |
|
|
perform in the 75th AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic Halftime Spectacular |
|
|
and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success and |
|
|
happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for April Fry as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
