R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, The Artie Henry Middle School band of Cedar Park has |
|
|
earned the 2010 Sudler Cup from the John Philip Sousa Foundation; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This prestigious award recognizes school bands that |
|
|
have demonstrated the highest standards of excellence in concert |
|
|
activities over a period of several years, receiving superior |
|
|
ratings at regional, statewide, and national competitions; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, One of only three ensembles in the country to earn |
|
|
the 2010 Sudler Cup, the Artie Henry Middle School band has been |
|
|
ably led by conductor Robert Herring III; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through hard work, dedication, and perseverance, |
|
|
the talented student musicians of the Artie Henry Middle School |
|
|
band have earned great distinction for themselves and their school; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the Artie Henry Middle School band |
|
|
on earning the 2010 Sudler Cup and extend to all those associated |
|
|
with the group sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the band as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
