R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Outstanding local educators and school employees |
|
are being celebrated at the Midland Chamber of Commerce Education |
|
Committee's annual Excellence in Teaching and Unsung Hero Awards |
|
Gala on April 26, 2011; and |
|
WHEREAS, The awards process is open to all Midland County |
|
public, private, and alternative schools, which are encouraged to |
|
choose a campus-level winner for each award; grouped by elementary |
|
and secondary categories, the campus winners then compete at the |
|
city level; and |
|
WHEREAS, The elementary education nominees for this year's |
|
Excellence in Teaching award include Pamela Abrams, Heather |
|
Bennett, Kathy Brookings, Laurencia Castillo, Sheila Chambers, Kim |
|
Connel, Kelly Cooke, Hiram "Tony" De La Rosa, Tasha Deerfield, |
|
Sheila Ford, Stephanie Gryder, Heather Halepeska, Robin Hall, |
|
Kristi Ham, Winette Hillger, Melissa Hoke, Stacy Leach, Yvette |
|

WHEREAS, Unsung Hero nominees at the secondary level include |

Linda Alley, Freddie Barela, Jo Ann Barrandey, Cindy Bishop, |

Charlsye Dodson, Rose Knight, Susan Lee, Jake Martinez, Heather |
|
Mason, Frances O'Neal, Roxana Salazar, Becky Streun, and Sherry |
|
Williams; and |
|
WHEREAS, The outstanding efforts of these men and women are |
|
vital to the learning and development of Midland's young people, |
|
and they are indeed a source of great pride to their campus and |
|
their community; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the nominees for the Midland |
|
Chamber of Commerce Education Committee's 2011 Excellence in |
|
Teaching and Unsung Hero Awards and extend to them sincere best |
|
wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the nominees as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
