R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, John Callison received the Teacher of the Year award |
|
from the Mineola Chamber of Commerce at a banquet held on February |
|
15, 2011; and |
|
WHEREAS, An auto mechanics instructor at Mineola High School, |
|
Mr. Callison has taught in the district for nearly 23 years and has |
|
also been an agricultural science student teacher; he established |
|
slot car racing contests at his school, with the proceeds going |
|
toward scholarships for auto mechanics students; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Callison studied at Tyler Junior College and |
|
East Texas State University and earned a master's degree from |
|
Stephen F. Austin State University in 2007; highly respected by his |
|
peers, he paid tribute in his acceptance speech to all teachers who |
|
strive to make a difference in the lives of their students; and |
|
WHEREAS, The strength of our communities depends on |
|
individuals like John Callison, whose tireless work in behalf of |
|
area youth has contributed immeasurably to the quality of life in |
|
Mineola; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate John Callison on his receipt of the |
|
2010 Teacher of the Year award from the Mineola Chamber of Commerce |
|
and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be |
|
it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Callison as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
