R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Gay Smith Hill of Golden was named Mrs. Wood County
  International of 2011 and competed in the Mrs. Texas International
  pageant in San Antonio in March; and
         WHEREAS, The Mrs. Texas International pageant, which is open
  to married women ages 21 to 56, celebrates the commitment of its
  contestants to their families and their communities; and
         WHEREAS, Gay Hill is a 1988 graduate of Rains High School in
  Emory, and she won the Miss Teenage Texas pageant that same year; a
  participant in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, Mrs.
  Hill has taken part in Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure breast
  cancer awareness walks and in the Alzheimer's Association Memory
  Walk; she also uses her own experience overcoming depression to
  help others suffering with that condition; and
         WHEREAS, In all of her endeavors, Mrs. Hill enjoys the love
  and support of her husband, Tony, and her two sons, Billy and
  Michael, who are both active in the Alba Volunteer Fire Department;
  and
         WHEREAS, Gay Hill is a source of pride to her family and her
  community, and it is a pleasure to recognize her for her
  achievements; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Gay Smith Hill on being named Mrs.
  Wood County International of 2011 and extend to her sincere best
  wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Hill as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
