R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Gay Smith Hill of Golden was named Mrs. Wood County |
|
International of 2011 and competed in the Mrs. Texas International |
|
pageant in San Antonio in March; and |
|
WHEREAS, The Mrs. Texas International pageant, which is open |
|
to married women ages 21 to 56, celebrates the commitment of its |
|
contestants to their families and their communities; and |
|
WHEREAS, Gay Hill is a 1988 graduate of Rains High School in |
|
Emory, and she won the Miss Teenage Texas pageant that same year; a |
|
participant in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, Mrs. |
|
Hill has taken part in Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure breast |
|
cancer awareness walks and in the Alzheimer's Association Memory |
|
Walk; she also uses her own experience overcoming depression to |
|
help others suffering with that condition; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all of her endeavors, Mrs. Hill enjoys the love |
|
and support of her husband, Tony, and her two sons, Billy and |
|
Michael, who are both active in the Alba Volunteer Fire Department; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Gay Hill is a source of pride to her family and her |
|
community, and it is a pleasure to recognize her for her |
|
achievements; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Gay Smith Hill on being named Mrs. |
|
Wood County International of 2011 and extend to her sincere best |
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mrs. Hill as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
