R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Patty Fallek is being honored as a Shining Star of |
|
|
Hidalgo County on April 26, 2011; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Shining Star Awards are presented by the Zonta |
|
|
Club of West Hidalgo County, an organization working to advance the |
|
|
status of women through service and advocacy; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Recognized for her contributions to the community, |
|
|
Ms. Fallek has been an active and dedicated volunteer, and her |
|
|
efforts have benefited countless South Texas residents through the |
|
|
years; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Fallek has supported the American Cancer Society |
|
|
and its Relay for Life initiative and the Vannie E. Cook, Jr., |
|
|
Children's Cancer and Hematology Clinic; she has also shared her |
|
|
time with local schools, the Junior League of McAllen, Habitat for |
|
|
Humanity, and Temple Emanuel; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Patty Fallek continues to demonstrate the positive |
|
|
difference one committed individual can make in her community, and |
|
|
her many significant accomplishments are helping to make the Rio |
|
|
Grande Valley an even better place in which to live and work; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Patty Fallek on being named a |
|
|
Shining Star of Hidalgo County by the Zonta Club and extend to her |
|
|
sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Fallek as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
