R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Anthony |
|
|
Dane Schaefer of Waco, who died on March 30, 2011, at the age of 45; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dane Schaefer was born in Landstuhl, Germany, on May |
|
|
5, 1965, to George and Charlene Schaefer; he joined the U.S. Army, |
|
|
serving in the 82nd Airborne Division from 1984 to 1997 and |
|
|
attaining the rank of master sergeant; his outstanding efforts in |
|
|
behalf of his country earned him a Bronze Star; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Following his military career, Mr. Schaefer worked |
|
|
for several electronics companies; he later shared his time and |
|
|
energy as a volunteer director of the Independence Center, a |
|
|
community facility for people with mental illness; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dane Schaefer was a brave soldier, a caring husband |
|
|
and friend, and an advocate for many people in need, and the |
|
|
contributions he made in each of those roles will long inspire those |
|
|
who were fortunate enough to know him; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Anthony Dane |
|
|
Schaefer and extend sincere condolences to the members of his |
|
|
family: to his wife, Deborah Schaefer; to his stepson, Jared |
|
|
Grooms; to his father, George Schaefer; to his brother, Shane |
|
|
Schaefer; to his niece, Amanda Schaefer; to his nephew, Charlie |
|
|
Schaefer; to his aunts, Nelda Rogers, Peggy McClain, and Joy |
|
|
Shattell; to his uncles, Larry West and Jeff Cagle; and to his other |
|
|
relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Anthony |
|
|
Dane Schaefer. |
