R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, In a demonstration of admirable skill and |
|
|
determination, Hunter Fritscher of Crawford High School turned in |
|
|
an outstanding performance at the Texas High School Powerlifting |
|
|
Association Region 2, Division 3, event in Riesel; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Facing off against the other lifters in the |
|
|
165-pound class, Mr. Fritscher set a new regional record in the |
|
|
squat with a lift of 550 pounds; he also bench-pressed 285 pounds |
|
|
and deadlifted 465, for a total of 1,300 pounds, which tied him for |
|
|
first place and qualified him for the THSPA State Championships; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This talented athlete traveled to Abilene for the |
|
|
state meet on March 26; there, he delivered another solid |
|
|
performance, hoisting a total of 1,285 pounds to finish fourth in |
|
|
his weight class; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By qualifying for a berth in the state tournament, |
|
|
Hunter Fritscher proved that he can compete with the top high school |
|
|
powerlifters in Texas, and this notable student-athlete may take |
|
|
pride in a successful season; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Hunter Fritscher for his |
|
|
achievements at the 2011 Texas High School Powerlifting Association |
|
|
regional and state championship meets and extend to him sincere |
|
|
best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Fritscher as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
