R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Dorothy Hightower of Waco passed away on March 21, |
|
2011, at the age of 87, leaving her circle of family and friends to |
|
cherish their many happy memories of time spent in her company; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born on April 11, 1923, Mrs. Hightower enjoyed a |
|
rewarding relationship with her husband, Jack Hightower, until his |
|
death, and they were the parents of five children, Candy, Jimmy, and |
|
Rick, as well as Suzanne and Linda, who preceded their mother in |
|
death; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Hightower was an ordained minister, and through |
|
the years she dutifully served several churches and ministries in |
|
the Waco area; and |
|
WHEREAS, Dorothy Hightower lived a rich and purposeful life |
|
centered around her faith and her family, and the joy she found in |
|
both will long be a source of inspiration for all who were fortunate |
|
enough to know her; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Dorothy Hightower |
|
and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her |
|
daughter, Candy Spence, and her husband, Eric; to her sons, Jimmy |
|
Hightower and Rick Hightower and his wife, Sharon; to her |
|
grandchildren, April, Aaron, Shane, Erica, Denise, Rachel, Renee, |
|
Guy, Toni, and Gabi; to her great-grandchildren; to her sister, |
|
Eunice Nowicki; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Dorothy |
|
Hightower. |
