R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A life made rich through meaningful accomplishments
  drew to a close with the passing of Maureen Pruitt of Woodway on
  March 18, 2011, at the age of 82; and
         WHEREAS, The former Maureen Crawford was born in Bryn Mawr,
  Pennsylvania, on October 5, 1928, to George and Charlotte Crawford;
  she attended Philadelphia schools and went on to earn both
  bachelor's and master's degrees in education from Temple
  University; while in college, she co-edited the Philadelphia
  Electric Company's magazine; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Pruitt enjoyed a long and rewarding marriage
  with her husband, Milton, until his passing in 2010; the couple made
  their home in Allentown, Pennsylvania, for many years, and Mrs.
  Pruitt taught special education and developed curriculum; after
  their retirement, the Pruitts relocated to Florida, where they
  became valued members of the Shepherd Christian Community and the
  Maranatha Baptist Retirement Community; and
         WHEREAS, Devoted to her faith, Mrs. Pruitt was a Sunday
  school teacher and worked with her church's high school youth
  group; moreover, she wrote articles on the topic of childhood
  evangelism; and
         WHEREAS, Although Maureen Pruitt will be greatly missed, she
  will forever be remembered with deep affection by all who held her
  close to their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Maureen Pruitt and
  extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her
  sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Phil Beatty; to her niece,
  Barbara Gurka, and her husband, James; to her nephews, John Beatty
  and his wife, Suzanne, Robert Beatty and his wife, Kaye, and Paul
  Beatty and his wife, Carol; to her great-niece and great-nephews,
  Elizabeth, Kyle, Daniel, Scott, Christopher, JohnMark, and
  Matthew; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Maureen
  Pruitt.
