R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, At the age of 101, Margie Nance Frost of Dallas holds
  a special place in the hearts of her loved ones, and her keen
  memories of life at Texas Christian University provide a link to a
  colorful chapter in the history of her beloved alma mater; and
         WHEREAS, Margie Frost, a Gainesville native, attended junior
  college in her hometown for two years; she visited TCU on summer
  trips sponsored by her church and eventually met the institution's
  legendary president, E. M. Waits; and
         WHEREAS, After winning a scholarship to TCU, Mrs. Frost
  worked as a secretary in the registrar's office while pursuing her
  studies during the Great Depression; she graduated summa cum laude
  in 1931 with a bachelor's degree in economics and a double minor in
  communications and government; and
         WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan went on to interview for a
  secretarial job at a jewelry store in downtown Dallas; the
  proprietor advised her to look up Psalm 1 when she got home, and
  when she quoted it for him precisely, on the spot, she was promptly
  hired; she continued in that position for more than a decade; and
         WHEREAS, Today, Mrs. Frost lives in a quiet Dallas
  neighborhood with her son, Jack, and proudly displays a TCU
  insignia in their home; she recently shared with her alumni
  magazine fond memories of her days at TCU, among them cheering on
  the Horned Frogs football team, teasing archrival Baylor
  University, and turning cartwheels in the corridor of Jarvis Hall
  in pajamas, a trendy new style of sleepwear sewn for her by her
  mother; and
         WHEREAS, Margie Frost has delighted countless people with her
  vivid recollections of days gone by, and she is a source of
  inspiration to her fellow TCU alumni and to all who have the good
  fortune to know her; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Margie Nance Frost and commend her for
  more than seven decades as a devoted fan of the Texas Christian
  University Horned Frogs; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Frost as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
