R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Honorable Cindy Gonzales has distinguished
  herself throughout her service on the Kenedy County Commissioners
  Court, and her work in behalf of her fellow citizens is indeed
  deserving of recognition; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Raymondville, Cindy Gonzales has lived
  on the Norias Division of King Ranch all her life and has worked
  there for 35 years in accounting and administration; and
         WHEREAS, She was elected as the county commissioner for
  Precinct Four in 2006 and was reelected four years later, and she is
  presently serving as county judge pro-tempore; during her years in
  office, she has played an integral role in a number of important
  projects undertaken by the commissioners court; these initiatives
  include the repaving of streets in the county seat of Sarita, the
  provision of garbage pickup and disposal for county residents, the
  creation of a fire and emergency services district, and extensive
  repairs and renovations to the county courthouse, tax office, and
  election administrator's office; and
         WHEREAS, This dedicated public servant also helped the county
  to secure grants from the Coastal Impact Assistance Program for
  building an agricultural center, from the Texas Department of Rural
  Affairs for housing rehabilitation, and from the Texas Parks and
  Wildlife Department for repairs and improvements to Sam Noble Park;
  and
         WHEREAS, Active in a number of other public and nonprofit
  initiatives, Commissioner Gonzales is a member of the Kenedy County
  Appraisal District, the Sam Noble Park Committee, and the board of
  the Coastal Plains Community MHMR Center, which provides services
  to children in nine South Texas counties; and
         WHEREAS, In all of her endeavors, she enjoys the love and
  support of her husband of 38 years, Johnny Gonzales, and the
  couple's four children, Edward, Misty, Amanda, and Ryann; and
         WHEREAS, Through her commitment and leadership, Cindy
  Gonzales is helping to make Kenedy County an even better place to
  live and work, and she may take justifiable pride in her
  achievements as a valued member of the commissioners court; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Cindy Gonzales for her service as a Kenedy
  County commissioner and extend to her sincere best wishes for
  continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Commissioner Gonzales as an expression of high regard
  by the Texas House of Representatives.
