R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout is an achievement shared by |
|
|
many of this nation's leaders, and the attainment of this |
|
|
significant honor by Michael Thomas Volling, Jr., of Georgetown |
|
|
also heralds a future bright with opportunity and promise; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Volling has earned 39 merit badges in his quest |
|
|
to become an Eagle Scout, and he has gained experience in leadership |
|
|
and teamwork while undertaking an Eagle Scout project in which he |
|
|
mulched the area around the Georgetown Parks and Recreation |
|
|
Department's Challenge Course; he has attended summer camp at Camps |
|
|
Sol Mayer, Powhatan, and Pirtle, where he completed the C.O.P.E. |
|
|
program, and he has participated in a number of high adventure |
|
|
trips; in so doing, he has exemplified the many positive traits for |
|
|
which Boy Scouts are renowned; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A junior at Liberty Hill High School, where he is a |
|
|
member of the student council and active in the band, this fine |
|
|
young Texan plans to attend college to study for a career in |
|
|
programming or software design; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In fulfilling the rigorous requirements for |
|
|
attaining the Eagle Scout insignia, Mr. Volling has demonstrated an |
|
|
unwavering commitment to the organization and its ideals, and the |
|
|
knowledge and confidence he has acquired along the way will indeed |
|
|
serve him well in the years to come; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Michael Thomas Volling, Jr., on |
|
|
achieving this prestigious rank and extend to him sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Eagle Scout Volling as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
