R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Mark Neeley of the First Baptist Church of |
|
Mineola received the Lou Mallory Historical Preservation Award on |
|
February 15, 2011; and |
|
WHEREAS, Named for the chair of the Wood County Historical |
|
Society, the Lou Mallory Historical Preservation Award was created |
|
in 2011 and presented to Dr. Neeley in recognition of the |
|
outstanding leadership he has demonstrated in the renovation of the |
|
old Dr Pepper Bottling Company building on North Johnson Street for |
|
use as a student center at First Baptist Church; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mark Neeley grew up in Lindale, graduated from |
|
Baylor University, and earned master's and doctoral degrees in |
|
divinity and ministry from Southwestern Baptist Theological |
|
Seminary in Fort Worth; he served as pastor of the First Baptist |
|
Church in Hitchcock before moving to Mineola in 1990; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Dr. Neeley enjoys the love |
|
and support of his wife, Peggy, a public school teacher, and his |
|
daughters, Sarah and Sally; and |
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Mark Neeley has worked to preserve the rich |
|
cultural history of Mineola while also providing area youth with a |
|
much-needed community center, and his efforts are indeed deserving |
|
of recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Dr. Mark Neeley on his receipt of |
|
the Lou Mallory Historical Preservation Award and extend to him |
|
sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Dr. Neeley as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
