R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Countless lives were touched by the kindness and
  generosity of June Hodges of Omaha, Texas, who passed away on
  October 2, 2010, at the age of 81; and
         WHEREAS, Born on June 8, 1929, in Oklahoma, the former Lahoma
  June Freeman was the youngest of the eight children of Ira and
  Zollie Freeman; she grew up in Oklahoma City and Paris, Texas; and
         WHEREAS, She married the love of her life, Frank Hodges, on
  April 17, 1949, and the couple became the proud parents of five
  children, Vicki, Yvonne, Ramona, Connie, and Damon; as their family
  grew, Mrs. Hodges further delighted in her role as "Granny" to 18
  grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, A resident of Omaha since 1969, Mrs. Hodges taught
  Bible classes at the Naples Church of Christ, where she was a valued
  congregant for more than 40 years; she earned acclaim for her
  talents as a seamstress and cook, and she was known throughout the
  community for the many good deeds she performed without fanfare;
  and
         WHEREAS, Those who were privileged to share in the friendship
  and love of June Hodges will always remember her with great
  tenderness and affection; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Lahoma June Hodges
  and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her
  husband of 61 years, Frank Hodges; to her children, Yvonne Erwin and
  her husband, Artie, Ramona Hodges, Connie Green and her husband,
  Darrell, and Damon Hughes and his wife, Donna; to her son-in-law,
  Larry Johnson; to her brother, James Freeman; to her sister, Ira Lee
  Foster; to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and to her
  other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of June
  Hodges.
