R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends of Donny Cardenas were deeply |
|
|
saddened by his untimely passing on April 11, 2011, at the age of |
|
|
38; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Born in Edinburg, Donny Cardenas earned his |
|
|
bachelor's degree in English from The University of Texas--Pan |
|
|
American, where he was president of Phi Sigma Kappa; he |
|
|
participated in Leadership Edinburg and was a highly respected |
|
|
member of his community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Cardenas was married to the former Marissa |
|
|
Lindsey, and he was the loving father of three sons, Nicolas, |
|
|
Samuel, and Noah; he was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Although his life ended far too soon, Donny Cardenas |
|
|
will always be remembered for his sense of humor and ability to make |
|
|
each friend feel special, and all those who shared in his love may |
|
|
take comfort in their memories of the many happy times spent in his |
|
|
company; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Donny Cardenas and |
|
|
extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, |
|
|
Marissa Lindsey-Cardenas; to his sons, Nicolas and Samuel Cardenas; |
|
|
to his parents, Don and Mimi Cardenas; to his sister, Myssie |
|
|
Cardenas-Barajas, and her husband, Xavier; and to his other |
|
|
relatives and many friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Donny |
|
|
Cardenas. |
